Im not saying that WWIII is coming but this all has scary similarities with the lead up of WWI. Most people don't realize that WWI didn't just happen one day. It took years to develop with scenarios similar to what we are seeing today. And yes, there was no NATO but the Allied forces had deep connections, trade partnerships and treaties long before WWI. In the end, economics drives it all and people on the other side of the planet are feeling the effects of this war so it's not a huge leap from where we are now to the involvement of everyone from China to Canada.
